Frequently Asked Questions- Physical Therapy near me

Dry needling Tampa

How does the process work?

We first talk over the phone during a free discovery consultation to get to know you, your goals, and see how we can help. This gives you an opportunity to get to know us too, our physical therapist and how you can get Physical Therapy near me in Tampa and Riverview metro areas.

What can I expect from our first visit?

All of our patients are unique and have different challenges and goals. That is why we address you and your whole body, not just the body part that hurts or needs attention. Whether in-person or through telehealth, on the initial evaluation, your PT will perform a full assessment and a specific treatment plan will be proposed taking into account your likes, dislikes, and preferences. We are certified, licensed and insured to practice dry needling, cupping, kinesiotaping, manual therapy, and much more.

We want to help you return to your active lifestyle as soon as possible. Your journey will begin on day 1, as treatment will be done that same day/visit! The initial visit may last approx. 75-90 minutes, with subsequent follow up treatment sessions/visits around 60-75 minutes.

Physical therapy is not a "quick fix" like pain medication, and takes effort and time. However, the results are usually longer lasting with most people feeling a positive difference in their 1st visit or within their first few visits. As your pain subsides and your health, strength and function improve, we continue to work with you to help reach your peak health and performance to keep you strong, healthy, and resilient from this occurring again.

Our goal is to give you the knowledge, resources, and confidence for self-care to prevent this in the future without the use of medications, injections, or surgery.

Is there a physical location?

Yes! Our physical location is at Powerhouse Gym in Brandon- 322 Brandon Town Center Dr, Brandon, FL 33511. Like our concierge mobile, it is by appointment only to best serve our patients and clients.

Do I need a prescription or physician's referral?

No, you don't need a physician's referral or prescription to see a Physical Therapist. You can see a Physical Therapist directly and your PT will contact your Primary Care Physician/Provider as needed.

We highly encourage you to see a physical therapist sooner rather than later. Research shows that directly going to see a PT before your primary care physician for joint and muscle pain (back, neck, knee, shoulder pain, etc.) reduces healthcare costs on the patient and also results in less unnecessary healthcare related services rendered. Most importantly, those who sought care directly from a PT experienced less pain and quicker recovery than those who delayed seeing a PT.

What do I wear?

Each person's injury and pain can differ, but it is important to have access to visibly examine, palpate, and treat your body, muscles and tissues directly. This is especially true if your physical therapist is doing dry needling to the area.

Please wear shorts for knee and leg pain. For neck and low back pain, a loose comfortable fitting shirt will be just fine.

Do you take my insurance?

We are considered a cash-based or an out of network provider- not contracted with health insurance companies. We decided we only wanted to answer and serve our patients, not the insurance companies. This means, you and your physical therapist can decide what is best for you for how long we need without having to worry about third party payers denying coverage.

We do understand everyone's financial situation is different and therefore we provide you with an invoice/superbill upon request. With the superbill, you would submit  it to your insurance company for reimbursement or apply to your out-of-network annual deductible. This superbill does not guarantee payment and is dependent upon each person's insurance company and plan.

What does cash-based mean?

Similarly to above, we accept cash, credit, or check for services rendered. We try to make it as easy and painless (pun intended) as possible as we accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Venmo, CashApp, and Zelle.

How long does each session last?

We provide the best hands on 1-on-1 care to our patients and try not to rush any treatment or evaluation sessions. However, to help plan, you should allot approx. 60-90 mins for the first initial PT evaluation and approx. 60-75 minutes for each follow up session.
